1. Who We Are

VimBet Ltd (“VimBet”, “we”, “our”) operates the VimBet sports media and subscription platform at vimbets.com. VimBet is registered in Ghana under the Registrar General’s Department as a Digital Media / IT Software Services / Sports Marketing Content provider. We are registered with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana in compliance with the Data Protection Act 2012 (Act 843).

We are responsible for the personal data you provide when using our services.

2. What Data We Collect

• Registration data: full name, phone number (MoMo number), optional email address, date of birth (age verification).
• Subscription data: membership tier, payment history, renewal dates.
• Prediction data: weekly match predictions, leaderboard scores, submission timestamps.
• Usage data: pages visited, device type, browser type, IP address, login timestamps.
• Referral data: your referral code, referred members linked to your account.
• Communication data: messages sent to our support team via WhatsApp or email.

3. Why We Collect It

• To create and manage your membership account.
• To process subscription payments and prize payouts via Mobile Money.
• To calculate leaderboard rankings and verify prize eligibility.
• To send SMS match alerts, weekly results, and account notifications.
• To detect and prevent fraud, duplicate accounts, and referral abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations under Ghanaian law.
• To improve the platform experience and analytics features.

4. Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Paystack Ghana — to process subscription payments and MoMo prize payouts only.
• Arkesel / Hubtel — to deliver SMS match alerts and notifications to your phone only.
• Nobody else. No advertising networks. No data brokers. No third-party analytics platforms.

5. How Long We Keep It

• Active members: data is retained for the duration of your membership.
• Cancelled members: personal data is deleted after 90 days, except where retention is required by Ghanaian tax or financial record-keeping law (up to 7 years for transaction records).
• Data breach: if a breach occurs involving your data, we will notify the Data Protection Commission within 72 hours and notify you directly within 5 business days.

6. Your Rights (Act 843)

Under Ghana’s Data Protection Act 2012, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — request correction of any inaccurate data.
• Deletion — request deletion of your account and personal data (subject to legal retention obligations).
• Objection — object to any processing not covered by your explicit consent.
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format on request.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

VimBet uses an httpOnly session cookie to keep you securely logged in. We also use localStorage as a temporary render cache for your profile data — this is cleared on logout. We do not use advertising trackers, third-party cookies, or analytics pixels of any kind.

8. Security

We protect your data using: OTP-based phone verification, HTTPS encrypted data transmission, server-side access controls, and httpOnly session cookies that cannot be accessed by JavaScript. Avatar images are stored server-side with MIME type verification. No method of transmission is 100% secure — please keep your phone and OTP codes private.

9. Children

VimBet is strictly for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately delete their account and all associated data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered members of material changes via SMS or email where practicable. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
